Church Road Winery Cellar Door and Restaurant is open seven days during summer, from 11.30am to 3pm. I highly recommend a visit to the cellar door - the staff there are clearly passionate about the vineyard's wine,are highly informative and welcoming. Church Road Winery is one of the oldest in Hawkes Bay.
The garden around the house would be a delight to sit in when the weather is good and there is outdoor seating on the verandah, along with a comprehensive barbecue. Apart from this, everything was very clean. The bathrooms are in need of some updating, with the enamel cracking on the bath and mould forming round edges of the outside of the shower. There is a good sized living room with comfortable settees.

This original building is charming,authentic and spacious and can accommodate a group of people as it has two kitchens, the main one shown in the photograph, four main bedrooms with an additional bed on a mezzanine floor and additional accommodation outside, if needed. Since 1989 this owner operated Winery, Restaurant & Cellar Door is a renowned haven of hospitality in this established and historic setting. We were warmly shown round by Sebastian and given his phone number in case of emergencies. There is a Restaurant on the Vineyard making it an absolute must see for any visitor.
